Water in your CPAP tubing, often referred to as “rainout,” is usually caused by a difference between the air temperature in your bedroom and the temperature of the air being pushed through your machine and tubing. This can lead to condensation forming inside the tube. To reduce condensation, you can:
- Use a hose cover to insulate the tubing and maintain a consistent temperature.
- Place your tubing under the blanket while you sleep to keep it warm.
- Adjust the humidity settings on your CPAP machine. Lowering the humidity can reduce condensation, but ensure it still provides comfort.
- Change the temperature settings if your CPAP machine has a heated tube option.
