We know Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) is a neurological disorder, but we don’t know the cause. The best guess scientists have is RLS is linked to how the brain uses dopamine and iron. We also know genetics play a role; if you have it, chances are someone else in your family does, too.
There’s no known cure for RLS, but weighted blankets are a really great option for relieving some of the symptoms. The even distribution of weight over your body triggers pressure points that produce relaxation and sleep hormones for calmer muscles and nerves.
