If you wake up feeling dry or if you have a dry cough, try increasing the humidity settings on your CPAP unit. Higher humidity will add more moisture to the air being pushed through your CPAP into your mask, which can help alleviate dryness in your mouth and throat.

Additionally, you can:

  • Ensure your CPAP humidifier is filled with distilled water each night.
  • Use a heated humidifier if your machine supports it, as this can provide more consistent moisture.
  • Try a nasal saline spray before bed to help keep your nasal passages hydrated.
  • Make sure your mask fits properly to avoid air leaks, which can contribute to dryness.
